I am currently studying graphic design and exploring what it means to pursue this as a professional career. This blog is a space where I plan to document my progress, share what I am learning, and reflect on the creative process as it develops over time.
Learning the Fundamentals
My coursework covers a range of design disciplines including typography, advanced desktop publishing, and web design. Each of these subjects builds on the others. Strong typography makes layouts more readable, solid layout skills make websites cleaner, and understanding web design helps me think about how designs are actually used in the real world.
Tools I Am Using
I regularly work in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to develop my technical skills. I am also building experience with WordPress as part of my web design coursework. These tools are industry-standard, and getting comfortable with them now is an important part of preparing for a real career in graphic design.
What Comes Next
As I continue through my studies, I plan to work on building a strong portfolio that showcases what I can do. Design is a field that values demonstrated skill over anything else, so putting in the practice and creating real work is the most important thing I can do right now.
